Numerical Simulation of a New Designed Mechanical Seals with Spiral Groove Structures

The spiral groove seal has a strong hydrodynamic effect, but it poor pollution resistance at the seal’s end and unfavorable sealing stability. Circumferential waviness seals can use fluid to clean surface have ability self-rush, protecting main cover from contamination. This study presents novel wave-tilt-dam design that integrates structures enhance performance of circumferential seals. objective research is evaluate mechanical effectiveness this new through simulation modeling, with focus on impact structural parameters such as rotational speed pressure behavior under various operating conditions. results indicate structure effectively improves liquid seal, resulting in significant increase film rigidity.
